As each puppy guest arrived, they were given their own Pink Tutu and Party hat with Puppy Ears to wear.
A box of Sweet little Puppies sat in the corner waiting for Puppy Party guest to fill them with stuffing and carry home as a new pet…!!

The girls LOVED stuffing their puppies and adding a special STAR that they kissed, made a wish and tucked deep inside before stitching them up..

 
Then it was time for a group picture to show off their new pups….!!!

Next the puppies headed over to the Photo Booth to take a few Silly Pictures with Photo Props made by Katie’s mom……SO CUTE…!!!!

Then it was time to EAT…!!! And the Party Table was brimming full of delicious eye candy goodies.. Please enjoy…!!

What an adorable Birthday Cake….topped off with a giant cupcake and paper party topper…!! This little puppy was ready to blow out her candles.

After the food, it was time to Go Fishing….Katie and here friends grabbed their buckets and poles. Love the Fishing Game that this mom made…

This is the fishing game she made, the girls had a blast could not get enough of this game.  It was so easy to make out cardboard and wrapping paper.

 
The girls caught different types of fish, jewels and bubbles, They got buckets with their name to put their catch in

Next up was the Bean Bean Bag Toss game,  I made this out of ply board (with Hubbys help) and covered it with wrapping paper.  Simple but fun game, the kids

The Girls went home with all the prizes they caught fishing and a few other surprises!  You have to check out these Marshmallow treats on a stick  made by StixNPops on Etsy. They are so adorable and they taste great.

We are in that funny time of year – some days it’s snowing and feels very much “winter” – and other days, it’s hitting 60 degrees, the sun is shining and my Spring fever is definitely blooming!  I start to crave fresh flowers, and colorful decorations – and I look for creative ways to make my house look festive (even if there is still snow on the ground!).

Today, I am going to show you a darling do-it-yourself project from The Purl Bee.  These colorful garlands are simple to make, easy to customize to any party theme/color palette, and are a fresh addition to any party!

Darling, right?!  And here’s a thought…..instead of using felt circles, you could cut out ovals and make the garland look like colorful eggs for an upcoming Easter brunch!

Let’s start with the invitation (I love the little wide eyed crab!) and placesetting. I used blue crepe placemats and cut them out in the shape of a simple fish. The placecards are just wooden crafts from the craft store (pre-painted). I picked them up for about $.59 each and wrote each child’s name in the center with a Sharpie. Do you like the fish tank centerpieces? I promise no fish were harmed in the hosting of this party. {wink}

I got the idea for these shark cupcakes from the Hello! Cupcake book (with a few modifications).

My youngest has severe milk allergies so I like to make non-dairy goodies and my old standby is the rice crispy treat (made with Smart Balance Vegan butter). We made flip flops with the number 5 (instructions) for all his little friends to take home as favors along with personalized beach towels.

The flip flop pops were displayed in sand pails and

the chips (lunch was served) were displayed in a little beach wagon.

Here’s a shot of the beach towel favors we worked up. I have the benefit of a very talented mom.

And last but not least, I enlisted my wonderful hubby to create this toss game. If you have a willing handyman around, or you can sling a hammer yourself, here’s a list of materials and step-by-step instructions.

Dawn is not the first party to be featured that has put together a photo op wall…and I’m really liking the idea of this! For Dawn’s Farm party she created a barn door backdrop! CUTE! Make sure to check out the cow cupcakes! The barn cake she made for the “smash cake” is FABULOUS! I’m sure it was delicious, but by the looks of it more of it ended up on her son’s face than in his mouth!

There is nothing like a first birthday party. You are thinking, wasn’t I just pregnant? Plus, this party completed the circle…I did his baby shower and she graciously let me do this party. She and I keep saying, “You just did my shower!!” When I’m planning his graduation party, that’s when it will really be crazy.

Emily got SUPER CREATIVE with her Neverland theme! She really had some fun stuff for the kids to do. The invitations are fantabulous and I LOVE that she and her husband got in on the dress up action!

This year for Ethan’s 4th birthday he wanted to have a Peter Pan birthday party. It worked out great since the girls loved to dress up as Tinker Bell (or any other Disney princess)& the boys could dress up as Peter Pan or Captain Hook if they wanted to.

The invitations…
The only thing I wish I would have done was stick some “Pixie Dust” in the envelope with the invite so they could use it to get to “Neverland”!

We also dressed up for fun & the kids LOVED it (the parents got a chuckle out of it too:). The kids especially loved it when Captain Hook chased them around.

The cake…
Since it was impossible to find a cake pan that looked like the island of Neverland,I made a mold out of tin foil and baked the cake in it.

A few fun details…
Instead of buying stickers of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell I just found some clip art online and printed them out on “sticker paper” & mail address labels! It was great because I used the stickers to decorate the cake (on toothpicks), the party sacks, the invites, and anything else I could think of.

Althougth I don’t have pictures, I also did the following…

-We had the kids make swords (out of card board, tin foil, and electrical tape) and magic wands (out of dowls with plummer’s piping wrapped around them) while we waited for everyone to arrive. They thought it was great.

-At the end of the party we had a “treasure hunt” and at the end they all got their “treasure” which was their party bags filled with stickers, treats, and pens.

-We played pin the “pirate on the map” aka Pin the tail on the donkey, “Peter, Peter, Pan! aka Duck, Duck, Goose, & had a little “cake walk” but we used candy and played music from the movie as they walked.

-I didn’t decorate very much, but I didn’t really need to! I just put up a few green streamers, signs with pictures from different parts of the Neverland Island (mermaid lagoon, skull rock, etc.), & got a tablecloth that looked like a treasure map.

We also made picture frames out of large popsicle sticks that I spray painted green, self sticking foam pieces, and a bit of glitter.
